Blanket Blessing Returns to Mitcham Square This June
As winter settles in, we at Mitcham Square Shopping Centre are proud to once again host the Salvation Army’s annual Blanket Blessing, helping provide warmth, comfort and support to people in our local community who are doing it tough.
Throughout June, shoppers are invited to donate a new blanket to the Salvation Army collection point located in the Atrium, adjacent to Mostly Books. Every blanket donated will help support individuals and families experiencing hardship during the colder months.
How You Can Help
It’s simple — just bring along a new (or clean, as-new) blanket and donate it directly to Salvation Army volunteers during collection times:
Thursdays: 12 noon – 6pm
Saturdays: 10am – 4pm
Collection dates:
Thursday 4 June – Saturday 27 June 2026
Why Your Donation Matters
The Salvation Army provides practical support to people facing homelessness, financial hardship, family crises and other challenges. During winter, warm bedding can make a significant difference to those struggling to stay safe and comfortable in cold conditions.
Blankets collected through the Blanket Blessing will be distributed by the Salvation Army to people and families in need across our community, helping ensure they have access to essential warmth and care during the winter season.
Working Together for Our Community
Mitcham Square is delighted to partner with the Salvation Army and the dedicated volunteers from Scotch College to make this important initiative possible once again.
Every blanket donated is a simple act of kindness that can have a lasting impact.
We invite our community to come together this June and support the Blanket Blessing.
